Remove external links

I'm using external links to link from one module to another within the same doors database. Main reason i'm using external links and not normal doors links is that I don't want to see 'unloaded' when I click on the link triangle and as I have lots of modules I don't really want to open them all to get round this issue.

Q. There doesn't seem to be a function to remove external links once created (at least notdocumented in the DXL ref man anyway). Anyone aware of how to delete external links in dxl? Cheers.

You need to use the ExternalLink type.

ExternalLink extLink = null

for extLink in (current Object)->"*" do
{
    print("deleted " name(extLink) " ")
        print(description(extLink) "\n")
        delete(extLink)
}

Object Properties / Links, select external link to be deleted and press Delete

Well, actually that is not a answer to the question - please disregard

Thanks Tony. Just a wondering what the "*" means?

It means "all link modules". It can be replaced with the fullName of a particular link module to limit the search.

Hi all,
unfortunately, this does not work for me (DOORS 9.2). You cannot read the links anymore after deletion in the same session, but as you close the surrounding module via "close(module, true)" and read them again, they are still there.
Has anybody experienced this, too?
Thanks & best regards,
Stefan

Found a workaround ... flushDeltions() fixes it.
